If you want special access to your website through FTP or a secure access protocol, ensure that your web host will be able to provide you with this requirement.Make sure you discuss whatever requirements you have with the web host before signing anything.

You might be thinking what the hell in the entire world is green web hosting?  Is there going to be a green label on my site?  Is a green banner going to be available?  No green web hosting is just like any green product is good for the environment. You might be trying to think how green web hosting is able to help the environment.

By using green hosting you will be helping out the environment.  You will not get any improved web speeds or anything noticeable to your web site.  Going green in your web hosting is up to each individual.  You also will not see any negative side effects to your web site with green web hosting.  You are probably thinking that it will cost more to use green hosting.  This is not the cases as there are a variety of sites offering eco friendly hosting for the same as other sites.

Is Paid Hosting Better?

When looking into purchasing hosting one needs to look at their needs before they choose the hosting they will need.  Having clear goals is very important.  It is common for web masters to look at their end goal first when looking to purchase hosting .  This makes them over pay month after month for their web hosting when maybe a free web hosting option would be plenty

As you look into hosting knowing how much space you need is important.  To many times people have the wrong perception on free hosting.  It is now common to not need to place advertisements on your web sites for these hosting sites.  This practice was much more popular a few years ago and is going to the wayside as we move forward.

 

A little side note: The free web hosting companies always provide paid service also.  Using this tactic companies can get new webmasters to use them and then later sell them on better paid hosting.  Many times these free options are very basic but their paid services offer much more space and bandwidth and almost always 99.9% guaranteed up time.

 

Using free web hosting is a good thing when first building web sites.  They can get involved and understand how things work–_This allows one to understand how things work first.  For experienced web masters there becomes a time when you need to move onto paid web hosting. 

 

You will get better control and options with paid hosting.  Using paid hosting can get you other benefits to help you build your site.  Each company has their own angle how to get paying customers.  Paid hosting will give you an abundance of web space and bandwidth.

 

Paid and free hosting allow people many options which is good for the market.  When entering the internet world free hosting is often better.  When you have experience paid hosting is usually better.
