Making Sure You Run Your System Update

System updates are one of the most important things you can do to keep your system safe. The updates are used to correct bugs in software and also be used to plug holes in security that some scripts can use to access your information. These updates are needed also to help the software support new hardware or update the functions to enhance its functionality with current hardware.

There are two ways to help you get your system updates.

1. You can set your computer to run them automatically on a scheduled day and time. On Windows machines, this is usually found listed in the “Security Center” section of the Control Panel page.

2.Mark your calendar. For those who want more control, you can always select “Windows Update” from your start menu. This will open your browser and you can select exactly which updates you would like to install.

There are generally 2 types of updates:

Critical: These updates are mainly security patches and bug fixes that repair issues that cause system crashes and other problems.

Optional: Optional updates can add certain functions to your software like updating drivers.

Updating your system is incredibly important and also very easy to do so there is no reason to not do it. It will keep your system running smoother and more secure.
